OEA Committees

The activities of the Oregon Executives Association are planned and carried out by our committees. Members are encouraged to join one or more committees. It's a great way to get to know other members and have fun while giving back to the organization.

Following is a description of the responsibilities of these committees:

Special Events

The special events committee plans the annual OEA Auction, works with the Programs Committee to set Business Crawls and works with Membership to plan New Member events.  A fun committee always looking for ideas!

Member Relations

Member Relations focuses on business relationships between members.  If any member has a business concern about another member; is unable to settle disputes; has concerns about their membership, this is the committee to contact.

Programs

Programs are set for each Wednesday meeting focusing on members, outside speakers and Business Crawls.  This committee schedules all OEA members to speak or introduce the speaker, finds outside speakers on a quarterly basis, and plans business crawls with special events.

Publicity

The publicity committee sends regular updates to the local media about elected officers, new members and upcoming events or speakers.

Membership

The membership committee actively solicits new members through New Member Events, membership contests and the like.  The membership committee meets with all applicants and makes recommendations to the board of directors, as needed.

Orientation

The Orientation Committee meets with all new members and assigns a mentor to each new member.  This committee reviews all policies, procedures and history of OEA with new members and answers any questions.

Attendance

This committee contacts all members that miss three or more consecutive meetings without contacting the office.  The committee makes recommendations on improving attendance and monitors those with poor attendance and provides monthly updates to the board of directors.

Finance

This committee is chaired by the first Vice-President.  He/she reviews the monthly financial statements, reviews the quarterly reports from the Accountant and prepares the budget for the following year in conjunction with the incoming first Vice-President and the Executive Director.
